In the words of one of my most-respected artists, Eminem, "This is your moment and every single minute you spend trying to hold onto it cause you may never get it again." I find this to be totally and undeniably true, and that humans, in their quest for happiness, look high and low for it, forgetting to enjoy the journey. Furthermore, when one finally achieves or finds this happiness, they don't truly realize how great it is until it's gone.
I, for one, certainly have this problem. I am never in the moment when I am happy, and never take the time while in that state of ecstasy to indulge in it. An example of this is when I am on a vacation in an exotic country; while there, all I can seem to think about is how hot it is, or how I'm jetlagged. It is not until I get home that I realize how great of an experience it was, and that I did not derive the full amount of pleasure or knowledge from the experience that I indeed should have.
So, let me know what you think about this. Is happiness meant to be looked back upon? Is it meant to be chased? Or should one let it come to them? Thanks to all for dropping in.
